MEET AJ CONLEY

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate

(Accepting new clients starting in October)

As a counselor, I feel it is a great privilege to be able to support individuals during times of growth and challenge. I primarily work with adults who are dealing with the effects of trauma and stress, and specialize in first responders in fire and EMS.

I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Somatic Counseling. My past counseling experience includes working with individuals over the age of 18 from diverse backgrounds with PTSD, substance use disorders, anger management, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

I have over 13 years of combined volunteer and career EMS, fire, and search and rescue experience in remote, rural, and urban areas of southeast Alaska and western Washington. During my career as a first responder, I witnessed firsthand how the job can carry over to every aspect of life, including personal relationships, home life, identity, and physical health. I bring this understanding to the counseling process to support the unique needs of first responders.

Everyone's experiences and circumstances are different, so my approach to counseling varies with each person. I work from a trauma and neuro-informed approach and integrate aspects of person-centered counseling, somatic counseling, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices. Together, we identify desired changes and sustainable tools to help you achieve your goals.
